Reykofninn ehf was founded in
1979 and is one of Icelands oldest registered food processing company
that is family owned.
In 2003, Reykofninn ehf established a subsidiary company, Reykofninn - Grundarfirdi (RG) ehf, which is based in Grundarfjordur town on the west peninsula of Iceland.
RG is an export company of frozen, fresh and dried seafood such as Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw and Smoked Haddock. RG is jointly owned by Reykofninn ehf, FISK Seafood and the Icelandic Government. RG is the first company in Iceland to develop the utilization of Sea cucumbers that can be found in the sea around Iceland but had never before been commercially harvested.
